Strawberries!

This post is a little late, the strawberries are pretty much out of season now. But I wanted to share a photo I took while making strawberry ice cream so I'm making a whole post around it....


My brother and I went to pick strawberries at the Peoria Road Farm Market a few weeks ago. Neither of us had been there before and ended up discovering a nice place to go in the Summer.







I came away with 5.5 lbs of Benton Strawberries.




This was the field we picked in.


Then I made ice cream...






This is the photo that I wanted to share. It looks like an abstract painting of beautiful colors.





Ice cream being churned up in my Cuisinart...


Larry and I went back a couple of weeks later and picked more. I came home with 10 lbs this time.




I froze some for making strawberry ice cream in the dead of Winter!



And we had a sweet breakfast one morning!
